Tony bought this truck out of Georgia to enjoy with his son after surviving a near-fatal brain tumor. They had planned on building a Mustang together, but after the surgery, his son said “Hey, can we build a Bronco instead?” The body was sound, but the steering was a terror and basically undriveable above 50mph. In 2017 I met Tom Hyde and drove the Duck, and in 2018 headed over to Lick Creek Restorations searching for help with my steering and suspension. One thing led to another, and we quickly had the body off and everything stripped down to the frame.
Among the many upgrades, we included:
*Duff’s 2.5″ Suspension Lift – System A+ #5000A+2.5-LS with the heavy duty rear leaf pack
*Duff’s T-Rex Radius Arms – #5355
*Duff’s Dual Sport Bump Steer Eliminator / Heim System Tie Rod Over – #BSE-TRO
*Duff’s Heavy Duty Stock Bumper Tire Carrier – #4964/4965
*Fitech Throttle Body EFI
*Explorer Serpentine Front Dress Conversion
Next up will be the Duff’s front disc brake kit, Hydroboost, and the MS2020 shocks.
We live up against the National Forest, so we spend our time on the back roads, dirt trails, and mud tracks. The truck gets driven.
