Product Description

The Ford Top Cover 4-speed is widely recognized as the optimal choice for all-around driving in Ford models from 1966 onwards. Its distinctive 10-bolt top cover is a key identifier, emphasizing its robust construction and reliability. When selecting a suitable transmission, the small-block 4-speed from the 289 or 302 engines is recommended, particularly the version featuring a 2.78:1 first gear ratio. This adapter kit includes all necessary components for a seamless installation and improved functionality.

Included in the kit:
– Newly manufactured main shaft with splines to accommodate the stock sleeve in the transfer case
– Seals and gaskets ensuring leak-free operation
– Special bushing for installation in the stock V8 3-speed tail section (minor modification required)

Additional installation benefits include:
– The original crossmember position does not require relocation
– Retention of the existing 3-speed clutch linkage

To complete this upgrade, the discontinued OLD #2101 4-speed shifter is also required.
