You no longer have to worry about finding a buddy to weld the brackets on your axle for your Early Bronco Torque Tamer. James Duff is now offering a Bolt-On option, allowing for a pain-free install. Another benefit by installing this bolt-on option is the main bar of the Torque Tamer will be closer to the center of your driveline, keeping it out of the way of obstacles. This will require the removal of 4 bolts that hold on your third member which will be replaced with the included studs. It comes Zinc plated and includes all required hardware to install.
Want to refresh your bushings or hardware on your already installed Torque Tamer? Use the Dropdowns to add new bushings, new bushings, and heim joint, or a complete hardware kit that includes all bushings and new hardware.
Note: If you have a high horsepower bronco (over 400 hp) and intend to use all of the skinny pedal while off-roading, we recommend you install the torque tamer with the traditional axle weld-on brackets.
If you are running a Hellwig rear swaybar, it will have to be spaced off of the axle as there is interference with the torque tamer bolt-on bracket.Â
This does not work on the ’85-’96 8.8″ Differential. Only works on Ford 9″ Housings.

Just ordered this for my Bronco project and it looks great. I really didn’t want to have to assemble my rear suspension, measure & mark to weld the bracket, then disassemble everything to have the housing powder coated and start over. This bracket is worth the price for the convenience alone, and it looks tough as nails. Can’t wait to get in installed!
