Choose Year
1 Choose Year
Before beginning please read the copy listed below the configurator. This system has many steps that will allow you to tailor a Dual Sport Bump Steer Eliminator system to your Bronco's specific lift height and options required to gain optimal steering geometry.
This Dual Sport Bump Steer Eliminator system is designed to work with the 1st gen 66-77 Bronco with a factory style or aftermarket equivalent frame, steering gearbox and front axle. Make sure the front axle is factory width, has factory style knuckles and the track bar mount is in the factory location.
To begin configuration choose the year of your Bronco, according to the VIN on the Frame.
Choose lift height
2 Choose lift height
Important - The bump steer eliminator only works if you have a factory-style frame, steering gearbox & front axle with factory-style knuckles. If you do not have these 3 things this system will not work for your Bronco.
Lift height will affect which components are needed to correctly configure this system. Each lift height will have different requirements.
Steering System
3 Steering System
The bump steer eliminator comes standard with the latest heim steering system, the Dual Sport Heim Steer, this system includes many new features to allow for an easy install.
Important - The bump steer eliminator only works if you have a factory-style frame, steering gearbox & front axle with factory-style knuckles. If you do not have these 3 things this system will not work for your Bronco.
Riser Bracket
5 Riser Bracket
When properly installed, this can remove almost all normal bump steer and eliminate potential frame damage in most cases. This reduction in bump steer makes for a smooth ride no matter how big the bump or how rough the road is. Plus, this bracket will completely eliminate the need for a drop pitman arm and in many suspension systems the need for a drop track bar frame bracket. The Trac Bar Riser Bracket is also the star of the show in our very popular Bump Steer Eliminator kit.
Comes standard with the kit. Requires welding.
Drop Track Bar Bracket
7 Drop Track Bar Bracket
This is only required on 5.5" lift systems. If you already have one just select no drop bracket, just remember you will need a drop bracket to ensure your geometry is correct.
Heim Steer Mounting Hardware
8 Heim Steer Mounting Hardware
For optimal geometry, the Bump Steer Eliminator needs to be installed tie rod over (TRO), To accomplish this you will need the 3/4" knuckle hardware kit shown below. This will require drilling of your knuckles. We offer an optional drill bit that is the correct size as an accessory to this system in the options presented later on in the process.
Lower Coil Retainer
9 Lower Coil Retainer
You can choose either the Standard HD Lower Coil Retainers (5120) or Dual Sport Lower Coil Retainers (5121). If you are not running a Hellwig sway bar then you'll want to select the standard lower coil retainer (5120). The Dual sport coil retainers allow you to install a Hellwig Sway Bar without any additional mounting brackets from Hellwig and allow you to convert the standard sway bar (5311) into a quick disconnect by selecting the proper hardware listed below.
Dual Sport Coil Retainer Sway Bar Hardware
10 Dual Sport Coil Retainer Sway Bar Hardware
5/8" Hardware (5126) - Choose this option if you are installing your (5311) Hellwig swaybar in a non-disconnect configuration.
Quick Disconnect Pins (5127) - Choose this option if you want to turn your standard (5311) swaybar into a quick disconnect sway bar. If you already have a QD Hellwig swaybar (5312) then you must purchase these pins if you are installing our Dual Sport Lower Coil retainers (5121)
Dual Sport Lower Coil Retainer Quick Disconnect Brackets
11 Dual Sport Lower Coil Retainer Quick Disconnect Brackets
If you are converting your standard Hellwig swaybar (5311) into a QD sway bar, you will need these brackets. If you are installing a QD Hellwig (5312) you do not need these.
Includes 2 brackets and stainless hardware.
