Before Purchasing:

The SS Dominator Long Tube Headers will not fit with our previous two versions of the dual exhaust #3090 or #3095. You will need to purchase our new Dual exhaust system #3141 for the all-new true mandrel-bent SS dual exhaust kit or #3142 for the aluminized version.

If you have an NP205 or Atlas we suggest you look at our shorty headers and 2-1 exhaust systems

Has not been tested with C6, 6R80, NV4500, or any GM transmissions. 

If you have a TDK frame and are installing SS Dominators the engine towers will need to be modified to install the headers.

Introducing our new line of headers, the Infinity Series. The SS Dominator is the first of several headers and exhaust systems to launch in this new series. This all-stainless long tube header is the first of its kind. Stretching past best-in-class performance and rugged good looks, the SS Dominator comes with standard features like EFI bungs, premium Remflex header gaskets, ARP stainless locking fasteners, ball, and socket (no gasket) collectors, and they are also GT40P and Ford AOD compatible. Choose from a natural stainless finish to silver ceramic or black cerakote. Whichever way you choose, you can’t choose wrong. All SS Dominators are built out of 304 stainless 16 gauge tubing with 1.5″ primaries and a 3/8″ thick header flange. These really are the last headers you will ever buy.

The SS Dominator Long Tube Headers share an incredible piece of DNA and are born from the original Duffy Torquer Long Tube Headers. This proven design has taken thousands of Ford Windsor-based V8 engines and woke them up at all ranges of the powerband. FAQ

Q: What add-ons should I consider before purchasing these headers?
A: If you are purchasing the raw stainless finish. We highly suggest wrapping the headers in heatshield products lava wrap to keep the heat out of the engine bay and off the floorboards.

Q: What is the difference between the Silver Ceramic and Black Cerakote options?
A: Silver Ceramic resists temperatures up to 1600° F, Black Cerakote resists up to 2300° F. Black Cerakote is more durable.

Q: Do you have an exhaust system that is compatible with this system?
A: Yes we offer 2 different systems. #3141 – A mandrel-bent stainless dual exhaust that is made of the same materials as these headers for a lifetime install or #3142 – our aluminized exhaust for the budget-minded individual.

Q: Are these headers compatible with your classic aluminized dual exhaust #3095?
A: No. You will have to purchase our #3141 or #3142 exhaust system. It is also not compatible with our older #3090 dual exhaust kit discontinued in 2017.

Q: Are these headers compatible with your 2 into 1 exhaust options?
A: No, the 2 into 1 exhaust is only compatible with short tube headers.

Q: What modifications are required to install these headers?
A: If you are installing these with a standard 289/302/c4/3 speed combo then these will be pretty much hassle-free with some mechanical knowledge.

Q: Can I get these without the included hardware or gaskets?
A: No, we include these to ensure a trouble-free install. If you have your own preferences you can save these for another build, sell them, or give them to your fellow bronco buddy.

Q: Will these work on aftermarket cylinder heads and aftermarket windsor based engines?
A: As long as the cylinder head uses the factory manifold/header mounting bolt pattern

Q: I want to buy ceramic or cerakote headers for my new engine will that be a problem?
A: If your new engine requires a break-in period when first fired up then you do NOT want to install new ceramic or cerakote coated headers. use a pair of old manifolds or headers for break-in.

Q: How will I know if my new engine needs to be broken in?
A: If the new or rebuilt engine has a new flat tappet cam installed, it will need to be broke in.  If the new or rebuilt engine has any roller cam it does NOT require a break-in

Compatibility

The real question is, what are they NOT compatible with? We have poured diligently into the details here to give you a header that can literally bolt in with any Windsor family pushrod V8 including the Explorer 5.0 with GT40P heads, factory 66-77 Bronco transmissions as well as the Ford AOD/4R70w automatics and the NP435, AX15/NV3550 & ZF5. Other standard features include compatibility with our wildly popular T-Rex and Extended (Long Travel) radius arms. Once the SS Dominator Long Tube Headers are paired with our brand new dual exhaust system you will have the finest, highest performing production-built exhaust system for your Early Bronco.

If you are installing with an AOD then it could require light grinding of the transmission case and manipulating the pan for clearance, for AOD/4r70w we also suggest installing a factory depth pan with a drain plug to allow easy transmission service this will have to be sourced by you as we do not provide one.

We do recommend at least 1″ of body lift for any non-standard engine combination on your Early Bronco so that you have more room to work with.

If you are running a factory Ford EFI system, you may be required to lengthen the O2 sensor wiring harnesses.

For optimal performance, we highly suggest you have your engine tuned for the added airflow these headers may provide. Not doing so could cause your engine to run lean or worse. Please consult a professional tuner for best run settings for timing/fuel management.
